Galamet, Inc. has added a major processing addition and enhancement to their Kansas City, Mo., scrap yard. The company has completed the installation of a double-magnet downstream separation system for its 2,500 HP auto shredder. The installation is one of few like it in the region and offers end-user customers such as foundries and steel mills increased volume of recycled steel to meet their needs.
Galamet expects a substantial improvement in production of shredded steel as a result of the installation, which was completed this past September. The installation included the double-magnet separation system, a smart-water injection system, the placement of over 1,000 yards of new concrete, a new mill operating tower and computerized controls for the shredder.
Galamet, Inc. has been in operation since 1977. The company is a part of the Galamba Metals Group, a full service metal recycler with a regional network of 10 companies located throughout Kansas and Missouri.
