The Washington, D.C.-based Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association (AFRA) has announced that GA Telesis, with several global operating locations and U.S. headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is the newest member of AFRA. GA Telesis specializes in providing support services to the aerospace industry. With the addition of GA Telesis, AFRA now comprises 68 member companies.
Martin Fraissignes, executive director of AFRA, states, “The fact that such a prestigious and influential company as GA Telesis has chosen to join AFRA is further testament to AFRA’s leading role in developing and setting industry standards for the sustainable disassembly of aircraft.”
“We look forward to developing an active working partnership with GA Telesis who are one of our industry leaders,” continues Fraissignes. “Being able to count on one more industry leader is important as we move forward in working closely with regulatory and legislative authorities in Europe and the United States to promote the sustainable development of the end-of-life sector of the air transport industry.”

SENNEBOGEN 340G telehandler improves the view in Macon County, NC
An elevated cab is one of several features improving operational efficiency at the Macon County Solid Waste Management agency in North Carolina. When it comes to waste management, efficiency, safety and reliability are priorities driving decisions from day one, according to staff members of the Macon County Solid Waste Management Department in western North Carolina. The agency operates a recycling plant in a facility originally designed to bale incoming materials. More recently, the building has undergone significant transformations centered around one machine: a SENNEBOGEN telehandler (telescopic handler).
AFRA reports that 25 organisations are currently AFRA-accredited. Established in 2006, the not-for-profit industry association comprises 68 members from 18 countries whose businesses focus on environmentally responsible management of end-of-service aircraft.
