Georgia-Pacific Corp. said it will retire four white-paper machines at its mill in Camas, Washington, affecting 250 jobs.
The company said it will install new equipment at is Port Hudson, Louisiana and Camas mills in order to streamline its communications paper business to focus on faster-growing segments of the industry.
The machine closures will not affect the Camas mill's towel and tissue operations, nor will they affect quarterly results, the company said in a statement.
