Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd will begin recycling scrapped automobiles in Germany with General Motors Corp and GM unit Adam Opel AG this month, said Fuji Heavy spokesman Kazuto Sakamoto.
"We will start the project this month in Germany," the spokesman said.
Scrapped vehicles will be recycled for their parts, which will be used by Opel, he added.
Fuji Heavy is 21 pct-owned by GM.
Earlier, Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported that Suzuki Motor Corp, another GM affiliate, had also decided to take part in the recycling venture.
However, a spokesman said no decision has yet been made. AFXLatest from Recycling Today
