Dallas-based Frontier Waste Solutions has been awarded a solid waste and recycling contract for the city of Tomball, Texas, for residential, commercial and industrial solid waste removal services beginning Oct. 1. The city’s current contract with Vaughan, Ontario-based GFL Environmental Inc. ends Sept. 30.
“Frontier continues its tradition of providing the best customer service in Texas through communication and transparency,” the company said in a press release. “With a focus on a complete partnership with the city of Tomball and the community, [Frontier] is now a member of the Greater Tomball Chamber of Commerce.”
Frontier says it is developing educational programs for the Tomball community, including the Frontier Waste App, which is available for download in the Apple and Google Play app stores. According to the company, the app can schedule service day reminders, provide updates on service disruptions and give the user the opportunity to compliment a driver or play a recycling game.
Frontier will replace poly carts and recycling bins throughout the month of September and says cart deliveries will be completed before service starts Oct. 1. The new poly carts and bins will match each resident’s current service option selection provided by the city of Tomball.
All services provided by the previous contractor will continue, but service days may change, the city says. The city of Tomball’s website details other changes, including increased solid waste and recycling prices, effective Sept. 17.
As previously reported by Waste Today, Frontier was awarded a contract from the city of McKinney, Texas, earlier this year. In March, the company acquired the 380 McKinney C&D Landfill, which it says complements the recently awarded McKinney contract.
