Franklin Miller, Livingston, N.J., has introduced the Vulcanator KM50, which the company says is a powerful granulator combining heavy construction with ease of maintenance. This unit is able to reduce heavy solids in high volumes and cuts processing time.
The 150-horsepower KM50 easily plows through a range of heavy solids, including rubber pieces, automotive moldings, large injection and blow molded parts, vinyl siding and plastic bottles, according to the company. Output size can be customized with a choice of screens. Features include automatic opening of the clam-shell housing, providing easy access and maintenance of screens and cutters, a clutch mechanism to mechanically de-couple the drive in case of tramp materials, reinforced housing construction for long life, outboard pillow block bearings and heavy- duty hopper construction.
An optional discharge pneumatic evacuation system can be provided. The system comes complete with a blower, piping and cyclone and bag filter.
