Franklin Miller Inc., Livingston, N.J., has introduced the Vulcanator, a specially designed granulator with the ability to reduce whole bales of synthetic or natural rubber into small bits at one time without significant heat rise.
The Vulcanator features a cutting mechanism that cuts material to a size fine enough to pass through a special perforated sizing screen. The unit’s open design minimizes heat rise, reducing or eliminating the need for costly cooling devices, the company says.
The Vulcanator is designed for heavy-duty operation. Access doors are provided for easy maintenance. Optional features include a control, infeed and discharge conveying system and partitioning agent feeder.
Units are available in carbon steel, stainless steel and clad construction.
