Fourth generation takes the wheel at Rumpke

Company names Bill Rumpke III manager of Louisville, Kentucky, operations.

Rumpke Waste & Recycling, a recycling and waste management firm headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, has named Bill Rumpke III operations manager of the company’s Louisville, Kentucky, operations. He is the fourth generation of the Rumpke family to take a leadership position in the company.

Rumpke will oversee the daily operations of Rumpke’s waste, recycling and portable restroom services in Louisville and in southern Indiana.

“Like his father and grandfather, Bill began learning the family business with hands-on experience at a young age,” says Greg Beamer, Rumpke regional vice president. “It’s exciting to see the next generation carrying out the mission and values of this company. We have an excellent team in place and look forward to future success in this region.”

Previously, Rumpke worked in Columbus, Ohio, where he managed residential services for 300,000 households, including the company’s largest municipal contract. His responsibilities included recruitment, training and evaluation of 120 drivers and supervisors.

The company employs about 120 people in the Louisville area, where it owns a waste transfer station and recycling plant.
