Auckland, New Zealand-based A-Ward’s container tilters have been used for loading and unloading shipping containers that contain plastic as resin manufacturers and customers shift from shipping with many small bags to single container liner bags.
These machines can offer a range of benefits for loading and unloading applications, according to Foremost Machine Builders Inc., Fairfield, New Jersey, which represents A-Ward in North America.
While A-Ward container tilters have been used for many years in other industries, such as agriculture, metals recycling and mining, the company has experienced a recent increase in demand from some of the world’s leading resin suppliers and users, Foremost says.
A-Ward container loaders provide some attractive benefits to plastic resin manufacturers, according to the company, including the ability to fill the container by loading at 90 degrees, helping to optimize freight efficiency and to eliminate shifting of material during shipping.
Loading speed also is increased speed because the tilter can be positioned directly below silos.
Built-in remote controls ensure the container loading process is a one-man operation, Foremost says. Customers also have the option of adding a scale system to the machine that allows the container to be weighed during loading.
The company adds that A-Ward’s container loaders remove customers’ reliance on expensive and scarce tipping trailers.
The container unloader allows companies to unload over a longer period of time, thereby increasing on-site storage, Foremost says.
Unloading speed also can be controlled by unloading at any desired angle. Through the use of hydraulic container door arms, operator safety is maximized, the company asserts.
