Florida County Recycles Glass for Road Resurfacing

Glass will be crushed for use in the production of asphalt.

Highlands County, Fla., has announced that it will begin collecting glass at its drop-off recycling locations, according to a report in the Tampa Tribune (Tampa, Fla.).

Glass collected will be crushed for use in the production of asphalt at the county’s asphalt plant, according to the report. Florida Department of Transportation regulations allow up to 15 percent of an asphalt mix to be made of recycled glass.
