Florida County Plans New C&D Landfill

County commissioners decide to build 3,000-acre facility.

County commissioners have approved plans to build a new landfill to store construction and demolition debris in Brevard County, Fla., according to a report in Florida Today (Melbourne, Fla.).

Commissioners have decided to build a 3,000-acre site instead of trucking C&D debris to a private landfill in Osceola County, according to the report.

Once the county receives the correct permits, it plans to build the landfill in 20-acre phases, each enough for five years of debris.
