The Flexible Packaging Association (FPA), which advocates for the United States’ flexible packaging industry, recently launched FPA FlexImpact, a social impact initiative aimed at bringing the flexible packaging industry together in service to local communities.
“The initiative reinforces FPA’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, collaboration and corporate social responsibility,” the Annapolis, Maryland-based organization says, adding that it is encouraging member companies to take part in activities that create “visible, positive change nationwide.”

The first FlexImpact activation is scheduled to take place during the 2025 FlexForward Conference in New Orleans, where FPA will debut the initiative through its inaugural community service event Nov. 4 from 12:30-3:30 p.m. FPA says the event, sponsored by the Flexible Film Recycling Alliance (FFRA), will bring together industry professionals to demonstrate the power of collective action and environmental stewardship.
FPA also is encouraging member companies to host local activities at their own facilities that same week to amplify the campaign’s reach and show the industry’s commitment to positive community impact.
“As stewards of flexible packaging, it is essential that we lead by example, demonstrating our industry’s dedication to responsible material management, community engagement and a cleaner planet,” FPA President and CEO Dan Felton says.
FlexImpact is an initiative of FPA’s Environmental, Health and Safety Committee, which was developed to “inspire participation, awareness and collaboration across all segments of the industry.”
To join the FlexImpact event in New Orleans, FPA recommends emailing FPA@FlexPack.org with the subject line “Register for FPA FlexImpact” to add the event to a conference registration. To host a local FlexImpact activity, members are encouraged to contact Kyla Fisher at kfisher@FlexPack.org to receive planning resources, promotional materials and event support.
