Flexible Packaging Association announces program for 2025 FlexForward Conference

The FlexForward conference will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana, from Nov. 4-6.

The Flexible Packaging Association (FPA), based in Annapolis, Maryland, has announced its program for the 2025 FlexForward Conference, an event for the flexible packaging industry to discuss sustainability, innovation, workforce leadership and advocacy. 

The conference is from Nov. 4-6 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and will include the debut of FlexImpact, FPA’s initiative to showcase members’ efforts in environmental stewardship. 

Among the sustainability and recycling sessions is a cleanup event targeting flexible packaging, sponsored by theFlexible Film Recycling Alliance (FFRA) and hosted by FPA’s Environmental Health and Safety Committee. Other sessions will cover California’s flexible packaging recovery, fiber-based packaging transitions and findings from FPA consumer research. 

The full program will have sessions focused on policy and advocacy, innovation and technology and market and brand perspectives. 

Highlighted sessions will include: 

  • State of the Industry Briefing: FPA President and CEO Dan Felton will deliver an overview of market dynamics, industry trends and policy developments. 

  • Federal and State Advocacy Update: Insights into the legislative and regulatory landscape shaping flexible packaging. 

  • Tariffs and Trade: Updates from Mowry & Grimson, PLLC on evolving U.S. tariff strategies. 

  • Artificial Intelligence in Packaging: A panel discussion with experts from TOPPAN, Reifenhauser and the Alliance to End Plastic Waste. 

  • Digital Printing Trends: Latest developments and applications in flexible packaging printing technologies. 

  • Global Market and Policy Deep Dives: Insights on polyolefins, extended producer responsibility (EPR) and a fireside chat with Circular Action Alliance CEO Jeff Fielkow. 

  • Off the Shelf: Brand Power Through Flexible Packaging: A fireside chat featuring brand leaders from General Mills, Procter & Gamble and Estée Lauder. 

The conference will have networking opportunities, including the FPA welcome reception, exhibit receptions, committee meetings and sponsor showcases.
