FCC acquires UK’s Cumbria Waste

The Spanish environmental services firm has reached an agreement to acquire Cumbria Waste Group of the United Kingdom.

FCC Enviro has agreed to buy the Cumbria Waste Group, a provider of waste and recycling services in the United Kingdom, from Netherlands-based Waterland Private Equity and expects the transaction to be completed before the end of the year.

FCC Enviro is based in Spain has been present in the British market since 1989 through its affiliate FCC Environment UK.

“The acquisition of Cumbria Waste Group’s business will enable it to deepen its geographical coverage and further expand its product and service offering to enhance the value proposal for its customers,” the company says.

Cumbria Waste Group, based in northern England, provides waste and recycling service to municipal and commercial customers, operating material recovery facilities, composting locations, hazardous and liquid waste treatment and household waste recycling facilities along with its hauling operations.
