Family Wins Free Use of Gehl Skid Loader

Gehl awared the Oechsner family free use of the 5240E Skid Loader.

Gehl Co., West Bend, Wis., a manufacturer of compact equipment used in construction and agriculture applications, has awarded the free use of a 5240E Skid Loader for six months or 250 hours (whichever comes first) to the Oechsner family of Mayville, Wis. at the Wisconsin Farm Technology Days, held in July 2008.

Andy and Missy Oechsner work full-time at the family’s 100-head dairy farm, which they purchased in January 2005 from Andy’s parents.

The 5240E Skid Loader joins the Gehl 4840 Skid Loader that the Oechsners purchased in 2005.

“We’ve always had a Gehl Skid Loader on the farm,” Andy says. “Gehl machines are smooth and simple to operate.”

Although Missy had been brought up using skid-steer loaders with hand/foot-type controls, the ease of using the Gehl hands-only controls made the transition to Gehl skid loaders effortless, the company says.

“Plus, we’re not fixing them all the time,” Missy says, referring to the reliability and quality of Gehl skid loaders.
