Excel Manufacturing, St. Charles, Minn., has announced the launch of the Signature 100 wide -box two-ram baler.
The 80,000-pound Signature 100 “incorporates all of the best features that make its big brothers, the Signature 150 and 200, the best in class,” says the company in a news release. A key feature cited by Excel is the use of high-pressure piston pumps in “an affordable 100-horsepower baler.”
With 330,000 pounds of compaction and shearing force, the Signature 100 is ideal for baling 5052 aluminum and stainless scrap, says the company.
On the energy efficiency front, the new Excel model includes a Smart Select Energy Saver that automatically drops out one of the two 50-horsepower motors during times of slow material feed, according to the company. Machine owners can designate the priority levels of throughput versus energy savings, says Excel.
Other features of the Signature 100 include:
- Selectable bale sizes;
- A touch-screen selection that can assign commodities with different expansion rates two bale width settings—one for containers and one for truck and trailer shipping; and
- 165 tons of main ram force to help ensure maximum weights are achieved on trailers and trucks.
