Excel Expands Manufacturing In Illinois

Significant investment boosts company’s commitment to state.

The Excel Manufacturing & Engineering Group announced its growth and continued commitment to American engineered solutions for the world at its headquarters in Pekin, Illinois.

Excel’s growth includes the expansion of gear cutting operations, investment in machining centers, and the creation of Excel Crusher Technologies, an entity producing high performance rock crushing machines, focusing on rock crusher rebuild and field services for mining operations around the globe. This new division will focus its attention on marketing the Raptor 400, a cone crusher that can be used in the concrete crushing industry.

The Illinois Finance Authority, the state of Illinois’ economic development department, is assisting the project by financing $2 million of the project.

“There has been a massive “weeding out” in American manufacturing,” says Doug Parsons, President/CEO of Excel Foundry & Machine. “In order to stay relevant in today’s manufacturing environment, you need to identify and remain focused on only that which you can provide a global value. The investment we have made in people, plant and equipment will enable us to provide our customers world-wide with unmatched quality and service while staying globally competitive.”

"We are very proud and excited to be bringing to market an American crushing technology that is the most advance in the world,” said Gary Beerkircher, president of Excel Crusher Technologies.

This announcement follows Excel’s groundbreaking and launch of Excel Crusher Technologies. Excel Foundry & Machine has been involved in the crusher and mining replacement parts industry for over 75 years.

Excel plans to expand capacity and capabilities of the firm's crushing machines, heavy equipment parts and service.

Assisting with Excel's expansion was the Illinois Finance Authority, the state's economic development arm, which will finance $2 million of the project.
