Ewaste+, a Victor, New York-based provider of electronics recycling and information technology asset disposition (ITAD) services, has acquired Take 2 Recycling, a Waterbury, Connecticut-based electronics recycler, as part of its expansion strategy across the Northeast.
Founded in 1995 and backed by private equity investment from the Sidereal Capital Group in Summit, New Jersey, Ewaste+ operates facilities in New York City, Rochester and Albany, New York.

Take 2 Recycling, which was founded in 2013, has built a reputation for secure, environmentally compliant recycling and community partnerships throughout Connecticut, according to Ewaste+.
As part of the transaction, Take 2’s team, which includes President Mick Schum, will play an essential role in advancing Ewaste+’s broader growth strategy in the Northeast.
“This is a full-circle moment,” says Andrew Vermette, president of Ewaste+. “Years ago, I worked under Mick, so it’s professionally rewarding to now bring the company he built into the Ewaste+ family. We’re excited to welcome his talented team and build on our shared commitment to responsible recycling.
“Our success is built on strong relationships and execution at the local level. The Take 2 team brings both. They’ll be instrumental in helping us serve more clients, more effectively, across the Northeast and through our growing national accounts.”
“It’s incredibly rewarding to see Andrew and the team at Ewaste+ leading this next chapter,” Schum says. “We built Take 2 around values of integrity, service and sustainability—and it’s clear Ewaste+ shares those same principles. Our people are ready to help drive an even greater impact as part of this growing organization.”
The integration will proceed in a deliberate and customer-focused manner, Ewaste+ says, with clients of both organizations receiving uninterrupted service, expanded capabilities and enhanced regional support.
Ewaste+ offers a full spectrum ITAD services, including on-site collection, data sanitization, product refurbishment, hard-drive destruction, resource recovery and chain-of-custody documentation. The company says it has served more than 11,000 clients, including government, medical and educational organizations.
Take 2 partners with municipalities, schools, businesses and nonprofits throughout Connecticut to provide electronics collection and recycling services. The firm also accepts consumer electronics for recycling at its Waterbury location under Connecticut’s electronics recycling law and is part of Waterbury Arc's Group Supported Employment Program, which provides employment opportunities to adults with intellectual disabilities.
