Jede Dose Zaehlt (Every Can Counts), the Austrian beverage can recycling initiative, has announced the winner of the CanBag Design Competition 2016.
Franziska Egger, a student at the HTBLA Lentia in Linz, Austria, received a cheque for €1,000 from the initiative’s founder, Dorothea Junk, for her CanBag design Monday, June 20, 2016. Several hundred CanBags depicting the winning design are being produced.
The ceremony was held in the technical college’s auditorium. It was attended by several faculty members and students, as well as some of Egger’s former competitors.
“We want to live sustainability at HTBLA Lentia and motivate our pupils to use valuable raw materials sustainably,” school principal Regina Reiter said.
The initiative also donated three recycling bins to the school for the disposal of empty beverage cans.
