A fire at the Evergreen Paper Recycling Inc. plant in Fort Worth, Texas, Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, took less than two hours to bring under control, according to a report on the website of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
The report says “bundles of cardboard, plastic and other materials” caught fire in a storage area outside the plant, producing black smoke. Firefighters contended with 106-degree heat while battling the blaze.
The fire department was notified of what would eventually be classified as a three-alarm fire just before 6 p.m. central time Monday.
The fire was mostly contained outdoors, although some flames “crept inside,” according to the Star-Telegram. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
On its website, Evergreen Paper Recycling says it concentrates on cardboard, office paper and plastic recycling.
