Evergreen Recycling, Las Vegas, and property developer Affordable Concepts, North Las Vegas, Nev., have been awarded the “Best Special Purpose Development” award by the Southern Nevada Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP). The award was presented at the NAIOP chapter’s Spotlight Awards in late March in Las Vegas.
The award was received for the development of Evergreen’s 50,000 sq. ft. C&D material recovery facility (MRF), built by Bob Potter of Affordable Concepts in 2007.
The steel building processes recyclable materials, with much of its initial flow of materials coming from the construction of the massive CityCenter project in Las Vegas. The recycling facility helped the CityCenter complex receive its LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification during its accelerated six-month construction schedule.
Now, the Evergreen MRF recycles more than 90 percent of incoming materials generated by a mix of more than 500 customers.
Evergreen Recycling (See “The Green Standard” in the July/Aug. 2008 edition of Construction & Demolition Recycling), founded in 1997 by current president Rob Dorinson, provides collection and processing services for recyclable materials generated by commercial, industrial and construction companies in Southern Nevada.
