Stena Metall, a Sweden-based recycling company, and Safina, a Czech-based precious metal manufacturer and recycler, have formed a joint-venture called Stena/Safina in the Czech Republic. The JV will focus its energies on electronics recycling that is based on Europe’s Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment directive.
The new company Stena/Safina a.s. will have three locations - Vestec, Brno and Sadska - in the Czech Republic. The company will be headquartered in Vestec/Prague.
Stena Metall Group has 230 locations in nine European countries. The company handles and processes ferrous and non-ferrous metals, recovered paper, plastics, WEEE, hazardous waste, chemicals and other production waste.
The company handles electronic scrap at its own plants in eight European countries: Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Poland, Austria, Germany and Czech Republic.
SAFINA, a.s. is a private company with a dominant position in the processing of precious and nonferrous metals, e.g. electronics recycling, not only in the Czech Republic, but also within Europe and Asia.
