A new group focused on further developing the electronics recycling industry in Europe has been founded.
The new group, called the European Advanced Recycling Network (EARN), includes Coolrec B.V., Eco-efficient Electroniccs and Services GmbH, Electrocycling GmbH, Indumetal Recycling SA, and STENA. The companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding July 1.
“Our aim is to provide our multi-national customers with more competitive Electronics Recycling solutions in order to implement the European Directive on WEEE* in whole Europe” states Phär Oscàr, president of EARN and Managing Director of STENA Technoworld.
Last year the five EARN partners processed more than 220.000 tons of material, employed about 550 people in 15 treatment plants and geographically covered already Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Austria, Spain and partially the United Kingdom and France.
In the nearest future EARN will be enlarged with new partners from the United Kingdom, France and Italy.
