Euro Paper Week Set for Nov. 17-19

CEPI prepares to host the paper industry at the Marivaux Hotel in Brussels.

Delegates are currently being registered for the 2009 European Paper Week event, which will take place in Brussels at the Marivaux Hotel, with a special event also at the Palais de la Bourse.

According to the event’s organizers, the European paper industry group CEPI, this year’s theme is “Building on paper’s values.”

In a news release, CEPI predicts that Nov. 17-19, “more than 300 participants will come together to discuss and debate the latest key issues and challenges facing the industry.”

The group adds that European Paper week is open to all and paper industry stakeholders can attend its meetings.

The main events include the CEPI dinner and CEPI annual meeting as well as several seminars on current topics, including water footprinting, benchmarking ETS, promoting biodiversity, research in biorefinery, paper and ICT, and a strategic research workshop.

More details on the registration policy access to the registration form can be found at www.cepi.org/epw.

This year’s sponsors for European Paper Week include Eka Chemicals as a platinum sponsor. “Paper Week gives the entire European pulp and paper industry a once a year opportunity to meet and debate issues pertinent to it,” says Martyn Griffiths, CEPI Communications and Public Affairs Director. “Companies such as Eka Chemicals that sponsor this debate and help us organise a memorable event for all participants are extremely important and we are extremely grateful to them.”

Earlier that same week, also in Brussels, is the 2009 European Paper Recycling Conference, being held at the Hotel Bloom.
