European Tyre Recycling Association issues call for papers

Association’s 23rd annual conference is set for 16-18 March, 2016, in Brussels.

The Brussels-based European Tyre Recycling Association (ETRA) will hold its 23rd Annual Conference 16-18 March, 2016, in Brussels.

The organisation is currently accepting applications for papers/presentations and has issued a second call for papers. Those interested in presenting at the conference are asked to complete ETRA’s presenter application form, available here, and submit it to ETRA via email at ETRA@wanadoo.fr for assessment.

The 23rd annual ETRA conference is a two-and-a-half day event offering plenary and breakout sessions, discussion and debate. The sessions will focus on the expanding opportunities for use of recycled tyre materials in innovative sectors.

Four sectors will be highlighted, ETRA says:

  • transport, including including roads;
  • general construction, sports surfaces and infrastructure;
  • state-of-the-art materials, including composites and mixes; and
  • pyrolysis.

The Plenary Sessions Thursday, 17 March, will focus on the use of recycled tyre materials as a crucial contribution to the circular economy in the European Union. The morning of Friday, 18 March, will include the plenary session as well as a pyrolysis forum. The afternoon plenary session will share key points of the morning sessions to identify options of working together.

The conference is designed for recyclers, researchers, processors, engineers, architects, contractors, designers, concrete manufacturers, material suppliers, specifiers and researchers. It will be held at the NH Hotel du Grand Sablon.

ETRA represents the independent tyre recycling industry in Europe. Its work is focused on tyre recycling, coordinating research projects, assisting members with European funding and lobbying and promoting and publicising the use of recycled end-of-life tyre derived materials to the architectural and civil engineering sectors throughout Europe. The association says it works to promote the interests of the independent tyre recycling sector to the appropriate directorate general at the European Commission.
