Esmark Inc. announced that it has settled a lawsuit that was filed by Metal management Inc. against Esmark’s Wheeling Pittsburgh’s subsidiary and Esmark Steel Service Group.
The litigation arose out of a commercial dispute relating to steel scrap purchased by Wheeling-Pittsburgh from MMI. By mutual agreement, the terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
Esmark also announced that Wheeling-Pitt will be closing a Pennsylvania facility, as well as idling two other operations in Ohio.
The company will close its cold rolled steel facility in Allenport, Pa., while it will also idle two of its galvanizing lines at its steel processing plant in Martins Ferry, Ohio.
Esmark had announced the plans to remove the capacity late last year as part of a restructuring plan for the subsidiary.
