ERS Industries Acquires Ohio Locomotive Crane Assets

ERS Industries, Inc. has acquired the bulk of the assets of the Bucyrus Ohio facilities of Ohio Locomotive Crane. ERS, Buffalo, N.Y., provides equipment and services to the railroad, steel, and materials handling industries. They have a long association with Ohio Locomotive in developing, building, rebuilding, and repair of American and Ohio brand locomotive cranes and associated products.

The Bucyrus facility will operate as the American & Ohio Locomotive Crane Co., a division of ERS Industries, Inc.

James Westlake, vice president of ERS, said, “We are pleased to be able to carry the Ohio Locomotive Crane name and product line into the 21st century. We have worked with this organization for many years. The tradition of quality that Ohio has established in nearly a century of service to the railroad, scrap, material handling, and steel production sectors, parallels our company's history."

ERS Industries builds the PowERStick, a hydraulic locomotive crane, and other diesel electric cranes used in a range of rail-based applications. ERS also provides rebuilding services and parts distribution for American and Ohio locomotive cranes, as well as the full line of Harris Shears.

Its affiliate, Ebenezer Railcar Services, Inc., rebuilds rolling stock for the railroad industry across North America. The company is a distributor and authorized service provider for both the Atlas line of hydraulic cranes and the unique E-Crane.
