Richard A. Shields, former president of R.A. Shields & Co., Richmond, Ind., has passed away at age 81.
Shields spent more than 50 years in the recycling and solid waste handling industries, and had been a long-time dealer/distributor for Converto Mfg. Co. Inc., Cambridge, Ind.
He is survived by his wife Ida, his son Richard and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
