EPC Inc., an IT asset disposition firm headquartered in St. Louis, has opened its newest location in Houston, bringing to six the number of facilities the company operates.
The new facility is around 30,000 square feet and will offer a range of services, including demanufacturing services, hard drive eradication, recycling of obsolete electronics and destruction services for other electronic equipment.
One area where the company is focusing much of its energy is in on-site destruction of hard drives, pdas, cell phones and other electronic equipment, says Dan Fuller, president of EPC.
To accomplish this, the company owns and operates several mobile destruction trucks that are capable of shedding electronic scrap. The vehicles drive to a customer’s site and can perform complete destruction of the equipment. At the present time the company operates three of these vehicles.
The decision to open a Houston facility follows EPC establishing a strong network of customers in the area.
In addition to the Houston location, EPC operates facilities in Las Vegas; Columbia, S.C.; St. Charles, Mo.; Earth City, Mo.; Kansas City, Mo.; and Oakville, Ontario.
