U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 has filed an administrative complaint against American Packaging Corp. of Columbus, Wis., for alleged hazardous waste violations. A $122,179penalty is proposed.
The complaint charges that the company's printing facility violated requirements for permitting and control of air emissions under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. EPA inspections determined that equipment at American Packaging was not properly marked and monitored for leaks, and maintenance and operation of hazardous waste storage tanks was inadequate.Latest from Recycling Today
