Environmental Office Solutions (EOS), headquartered in East Hartford, Conn., says it has implemented a quality management system compliant with ISO 9001 and has achieved certification to the R2 (Responsible Recycling Practices):2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007standards after an audit by Orion Registrar.
In a news release, the company says tha during the past several months it has put in place a transparent verification system to manage its processes for the recycling of used print cartridges, cell phones and small electronic devices in what it calls the most ecologically responsible manner.
"We successfully demonstrated that we have put in place the processes and procedures to handle material properly and provide a safe workplace environment,” says Terry Stoddard, COO of the company. “This certification is the result of several months of intensive work in preparation for two in-depth audits. These certifications support our ongoing mission and long-term commitment to the environment and this industry."
In addition to a 32,000-square-foot recycling facility in Connecticut, the company operates a 20,000-square-foot recycling facility in California.
