EMR Opts for Crow Environmental for Shredding System

Company expects to have equipment in place by November 1.

European Metal Recycling has chosen Crow Environmental to supply and install vehicle de-pollution rigs at the majority of its sites. EMR is one of the largest auto shredders in the United Kingdom. The company handles more than 1.1 million vehicles a year. Installing of the equipment will allow the company to de-pollute more than 200,000 vehicles a year.

 

The system being installed a method for extracting fluids from an end of life vehicle. It uses a hydraulic lift to gain access to all parts of the vehicle, allowing operatives to easily remove the battery, engine bay fluids, wheels, catalytic converter and the under body fluids. The entire process of de-pollution can be completed at one station, the company said.

 

Graeme Carus, development director at EMR, said, "We are completely confident that the equipment supplied by Crow Environmental will meet the required standards and be fully operational by November 1.

 

"Over the past three years, we have evaluated all the systems on the market against key selection criteria including health and safety, ease of operation and value for money. Crow Environmental have met our requirements in full."
