European Metal Recycling Ltd. has appointed Colin Iles, its executive director and CEO of U.S. operations, as the company’s new chairman.
The company also named Chris Sheppard, executive director and CEO of EMR’s European Operations, to the role of Group CEO with executive responsibility for EMR’s global operations.
EMR’s founder Phillip Sheppard, who was chairman of the company, passed away in August 2011.
“These changes clearly lay a very strong foundation following the passing of Phillip,” said Iles. “EMR has been built into a great company with an excellent management team, and I believe, with this structure, we are securing our continued growth and success.”
“The restructuring of responsibilities provides a clear platform from which the strong performance and heritage of EMR can be continued into the future,” said Sheppard. “The company has a first-rate management team, great employees and an exciting future.”
EMR, headquartered in the U.K., operates close to 130 locations throughout the world.
