Ely Enterprises Inc., Lorain, Ohio, now is offering the Guardian automatic personnel protection system, developed and refined by Safetech, to recycling industry customers throughout the United States.
The Guardian system is designed around what United Kingdom-based Safetech calls “state-of-the-art intelligent technology” that “offers unique protection against accidents involving industrial conveyors and access points leading to hazardous machinery.”
The system is suitable for protecting workers involved in a wide range of processes, according to Ely Enterprises, including applications in the recycling of scrap metal, paper, cardboard and plastic as well as other manufacturing and engineering processes.
Benefits of the Guardian system, according to Ely Enterprises and Safetech, include:
- preventing injuries and saving lives;
- minimal operating cost;
- reducing insurance premiums;
- protecting workers even if trapped, concealed, unconscious and injured;
- allowing uninhibited flow of material on conveyors; and
- rugged construction suitable for harsh industrial conditions.
