Göteborg, Sweden-based Elof Hansson Fiber, a global business facilitator for buyers and sellers of pulp and paper, and Chicago-based logistics coordinator Pontin USA have formed a partnership for recovered materials in the U.S. and other designated areas globally, effective May 1.
The partnership represents a combination of expertise from two recycling firms with more than 200 years combined sales experience to “enhance and diversify our sourcing position in North and South America, among other origins,” the group says in a news release. The cooperation will also open the door to opportunities for customers abroad and “result in immediate improvements in coverage, grades, volume, quality and sales.”
Pontin USA will retain commercial control for much of its current business, while Elof Hansson will manage the financial side and overall responsibilities. The two groups will also partner on new joint business developments abroad with Pontin positioned as Elof’s sales arm in the U.S. and with Elof the sales arm in Europe.
