Redemtech, based in Columbus, Ohio, is doubling the size of its Columbus facility to 135,000 square feet by leasing 65,000 square feet.
Robert Houghton, president of Redemtech, said the company was exceeding its projected growth targets and would look to open facilities in the Western U.S. before the end of the year.
Several locations for Redemtech’s Western facility are under consideration but no decision had been reached. Houghton said the company is reviewing sites in California and Nevada.
The company handles the physical retrieval of equipment from customers offices, evaluates the component make-up and performance of each product and, based on profiles developed with every customer, determines whether equipment is to be refurbished and redeployed in the client company, resold to a third party, donated, or recycled. All disposals are handled using procedures that comply with regulations covering data privacy and environmental safety.
Redemtech currently has a processing capacity of 35,000 units per month. The company hopes to reach 70,000 units per month by the end of this year.
