The Northeast Recycling Council is hosting a training workshop for municipalities and small businesses on electronics recycling, “How to set-up a used electronics recycling or reuse program: A training workshop for municipalities and small businesses,” will be held Oct. 26, in Schenectady, N.Y., followed by a workshop Nov. 7, in Boston.
John Leigh, program manager for NERC says the workshop is for those “who are interested in creating new collection programs for their own jurisdictions, whether it be special collection events, or starting more ambitiously with an ongoing drop-off program or curbside program.”
The secondary audience for the show, Leigh says, is small businesses, those with less than 500 employees, who have ongoing needs for electronics disposal. There will be two concurrent sessions at the program, one geared toward municipal coordinators and one specifically for small businesses who may have different needs and regulations as far as collection of materials and disposal.
