Electronic Recyclers International Launches 1-800-Recycling

Division will expand beyond California and Massachusetts in November.

Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), an electronics recycling company based in Fresno, Calif., has announced the launch of 1-800-Recycling, which it describes as “a division of ERI dedicated to enhancing and simplifying the consumer recycling experience.”

ERI’s 1-800-Recycling provides information regarding the recycling of electronics in California and Massachusetts and will expand to cover the United States later this year.

November 15, National Recycling Day, ERI will launch 1-800-Recycling nationally as a fully integrated Web site (1-800-Recycling.org) and live-operator phone line, according to the company. The site and the phone service will direct users to responsible recyclers of not only electronics, but also of tires, oil, paint, glass, plastic, household hazardous waste, wood, mattresses and carpet.

“We are very excited about this launch,” John S. Shegerian, chairman and CEO of ERI, says. “We have taken the most intuitive and memorable name possible for the recycling industry and we are doing something remarkable with it.”
