The Genesee County, N.Y., Planning Board recently recommended a plan by Ed Arnold Scrap Processors to put up a large buildings on land it has been using in the city of Pembroke for several years. The company, already operating from one facility in the city, had purchased a second yard recently where it was storing some scrap metal. That facility was a scrap metal yard.
Under the plan, the company is looking to install a 80-feet by 100-feet building at the site. The company also indicated that they may seek to expand that building in the future, depending on market opportunities.
While much of the activity on the site is dedicated to auto parts recycling, there will be some crushing and scrap processing at the site. The company already operates a full service scrap metal recycling facility at another location in the city.
The location where the building is being proposed is zoned for industry.
The Town of Pembroke is scheduled to vote on the project at its next meeting Oct. 21.
