The European Commission cleared under the European Coal and Steel Community Treaty Fri Interseroh AG's acquisition of Hansa Recycling GmbH from Nordag AG unit Temana Unternehmensverwaltungs GmbH.
Both companies are involved in ferrous scrap recycling.
According to the EC, the acquisition does not create any anti-competitive issues since the combined group would only control 5 percent of the ferrous scrap trading the EDC.
The EC also noted that that combined company would face competition from significant players including large European steel companies.
