Chicago-based electronics recycler Intercon Solutions is encouraging everyone to “Go Beyond the Hour” on Earth Hour, March 26 at 8:30 p.m. Started in 2007, Earth Hour encourages individuals and businesses to turn-off all nonessential lights for one hour to take a stand against climate change.
Intercon Solutions says that as part of green initiatives, it has reduced electricity consumption throughout the past year by dimming down or turning off all unnecessary lights and unplugging any intermittently used electronic devices. Intercon Solutions is also encouraging employees, along with their families and friends, to dim and/or turn off all lights on March 26.
Several Intercon Solutions employees have pledged to “Go Beyond the Hour” with environmentally-friendly endeavors at home in an effort to keep the movement going after the hour is up, according to the company.
