E-Waste World 2013 Summit Set for March in Shanghai

The city of Shanghai will be the site of e-Waste World 2013, scheduled for 20-21 March. The event is sponsored by Demand-Led—Shanghai.

The event focuses on the issues posed by electronic waste in China and beyond, due to the significant increase in the sales of electronics. It is estimated that China will produce more than 6 million tons of electronic scrap in 2020. Correct recycling and disposal of potentially hazardous e-wastes requires special technology and equipment, Demand-Led—Shanghai notes. The Chinese government is committed to controlling the problem in a sustainable manner, conference planners add.

E-Waste World 2013 is designed to address the issue and offer solutions. The event is to be held at the Crowne Plaza Shanghai. Program topics and discussions will include a global e-waste management outlook, OEM case studies and recycling perspectives from key players. Additionally, the summit offers suppliers an opportunity to showcase their products and services.

According to Demand-Led, EWW 2013 will offer an opportunity to learn Chinese government incentives and policies, as well as global e-waste methodologies and trends.
