Todd Hill, founder and CEO of trueCycle, Inc., a California e-waste recycler, announced that the company has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 and 14001:2004 Certifications.
ISO 9001:2000 refers to international certification defined by quality management standards in business and customer relations. ISO 14001:2004 is the international standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS) achieved by organizations adopting comprehensive programs to meet the environmental challenges associated with handling hazardous materials. Together the ISO 9001:2000 and 14001:2004 standards address important business and societal issues such as social responsibility, sustainability, conformity assessment, services standards, and customer satisfaction.
“Electronics waste must be recognized as a special category, not simply because of the environmental impact of improper disposal, but also because e-waste poses greater opportunity for unauthorized access to personal or corporate information that may remain on hard drives and other electronics storage media,” said CEO. “
“Exposing corporations to risks associated with failure to comply to a slew of privacy compliance laws, while their customers are exposed to the risks associated with identity theft,” he added.
trueCycle maintains corporate offices in Pasadena, Calif., and operations facilities in Placerville and Victorville providing asset management services, electronics waste materials reclamation, environmentally responsible recycling, volume reduction processing, due diligence environmental certification, and equipment tracking services.
