WasteExpo is pleased to announce the launch of an all-new pavilion format, the E-Recycling Pavilion, at the upcoming 2005 event, May 3-5 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Sponsored by Recycling Today magazine, this pavilion will showcase exhibits from relevant industry suppliers as well as three daily presentations for the benefit of all WasteExpo attendees.
Recycling Today will organize the daily sessions, which will be free to all WasteExpo badgeholders. The presentations scheduled to take place within the E-Recycling Pavilion Tuesday, May 3, and Wednesday, May 4, will be:
(1) Growth in E-scrap:
An overview of the volume growth in this material and the strain that volume is causing on existing waste collection systems. While the material has been absorbed in small volumes, as the volume grows, that will no longer be possible. This, along with regulatory issues, will cause the collection schemes to change and to expand. This market reality creates an opportunity for forward-thinking operators.
(2) Regulatory Environment:
The growth in e-scrap has lead to an increasing realization that some of the material causes real environmental concerns. Managing the flow of this material to channel its disposal and to mitigate the potential environmental fallout is critical now at the early stages of the business. This session will examine the emerging regulatory environment and will look at what is likely to come down the road.
(3) Opportunities/Market Development:
While electronic scrap contains many dangerous materials, it also contains many valuable materials. Reclamation of those materials not only helps to mitigate environmental concerns, but can also provide revenue streams that can offset collection costs and, in some instances, generate substantial positive profits for programs. This session will examine the recycling infrastructure and the opportunities it holds.
This E-Recycling Pavilion will contain a stage for the daily panel presentations, seating for attendees and lounge space for networking with Pavilion exhibitors between sessions. The booths of Pavilion exhibitors will frame the area. The E-Recycling Pavilion will be near the front entrance of the upper-level exhibit hall.
In addition, WasteExpo Conference Registrants can also attend the E-Waste conference session, within the Technical Information Track, scheduled for Tuesday, May 3 from 10:15-11:45am.
