Dutch Firm Acquires Veolia’s Belgian Solid Waste Business

The acquisition is expected to add about 1,600 jobs in Belgium.

Van Gansewinkel Groep, a recycling company based in the Netherlands, has acquired of the Belgian solid waste management activities of Veolia.

The acquisition is expected to add about 1,600 jobs. The newly acquired division generates annual revenues of about € 314 million (US $451 million).The newly acquired Belgian operations will be renamed to Van Gansewinkel.
The acquisition was first announced June 15, 2011.
