Dunbar Armored, Inc., an independent armored transportation companies and Back Thru The Future Computer Recycling, Inc., a New Jersey-based specialist in secure data destruction, have announced an alliance agreement whereby the two companies will provide a comprehensive program for the destruction of sensitive data and computer hard drives.
By coordinating their core services, Dunbar Armored and Back Thru The Future enable financial institutions and others to certifiably destroy sensitive data and computer hard drives prior to disposal.
"Absolute data destruction and the proper disposal of old hard drives is now a legal and regulatory must in many industries" said Melanie Haga, CEO of Back Thru The Future.
"Federal and state laws require the destruction of sensitive information prior to disposal –and financial penalties for compliance failure can be severe. But an even larger liability is the requirement to notify all possibly affected entities of a security breach," she notes.
"Dunbar Armored’s ultra secure transportation service combined with Back Thru The Future’s unique data and computer equipment disposal capabilities, provides customers with a turnkey data destruction service that protects them against huge liabilities from improperly handled data," said Mike West, Vice President of Dunbar’s Global Logistics division." And with more than 80 Dunbar Armored branch offices and 1,000 trucks nationwide, we bring substantial resources to this new venture", he added.
