DS Smith, London, has announced that Stephanie Dalton is joining the company as its innovation manager for its Recycling Division.
Prior to this appointment, Dalton most recently worked for DS Smith overseeing strategic development for the company’s recycling activities within large blue-chip retail organizations. According to a news release from DS Smith, Dalton has more than 20 years of industry experience, having worked within the recycling, facilities management and producer responsibility sectors.
In her new position, she will be responsible for developing DS Smith’s recycling innovation projects across Europe. DS Smith says Dalton will report to DS Smith’s head of strategic development and business transformation. Based in the U.K., Dalton will initially focus on technology advancements targeting the reduction of contamination in recycling. The company says the role will also focus on developing the DS Smith circular business model by forging closed-loop partnerships and championing solutions for many of today’s biggest recycling challenges including tackling the rise of packaging entering into consumer recycling streams.
“I am excited to join the Innovations team at DS Smith’s Recycling division and drive developments in resource management by working closely with customers to understand their needs,” Dalton says. “As we continue to see e-commerce grow, with 64 percent of Europeans shopping more online during COVID-19, the amount of packaging coming into households is increasing. Developing solutions to tackle that as an industry and as a company and responding to changing consumer habits really excites me.”
