Southbridge, Massachusetts-based D&S Manufacturing, a division of Hyde Industrial Blade Solutions (IBS), says its granulator knives have been designed for high performance for the plastic, rubber and recycling industries.
The knives are machined to exacting tolerances for higher productivity and longer life under the toughest conditions, says D&S, and are suitable for recycling plastic bottles, tires, trash cans, car parts or nonferrous metals.
Materials used in the knives include moly-chrome, super moly-chrome, D2 steel, M2 tool steel, CPM (crucible particle metallurgy) 10V tool steel, PGK tool steel and other metals and alloys. D&S granulator knives “undergo a proprietary heat-treating process to ensure extended knife life and are ground as a set for tighter tolerances,” says the company. The granulator knives range in size up to 54 inches in cutting width and are available in stock for many common sizes.
D&S says it makes granulator knives providing application-driven solutions for most granulator brands. Made in the United States, the knives are backed by more than 60 years of experience and sold by what the company calls a team of applications engineers who can assist companies in reducing downtime.
Having recently celebrated its 140th year in business, Hyde Industrial Blade Solutions describes itself as a leading producer of industrial knives and blades for a wide variety of markets including plastics processing, paper converting, food processing, cloth and textile and leather, hose and tube, tire and rubber, packaging and abrasives as well as for general industrial applications.
