The Doe Run Co., headquartered in St. Louis, has promoted Steve Batts to general manager of its Southeast Missouri Mining and Milling Division (SEMO). He replaces Bob Roscoe, who is retiring.
Doe Run is a privately held natural resources company with a major focus on lead production. According to the company, it is the largest integrated lead producer in the Western Hemisphere.
As general manager, Batts will oversee SEMO’s six mines and four mills, which generate five million tons of lead, zinc and copper ore per year. He will be responsible for the overall management of the division, ensuring commitments to safety, environmental responsibility and business results continue to be met.
Batts brings more than 25 years of experience with Doe Run to his new position.
