U-Pull-&-Pay stores receive SHARP designation

U-Pull-&-Pay (UPAP) has announced that its stores in Phoenix and in Albuquerque, New Mexico, have received the SHARP (Safety & Health Achievement Recognition Program) designation from the U.S. Department of Labor. UPAP’s Phoenix facility is the first self-serve auto parts recycler in the United States to receive this award; UPAP’s Albuquerque facility is the second.

The Phoenix and Albuquerque facilities were recognized for their commitment to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) says its SHARP designation is the highest honor the agency awards to small worksites that demonstrate an exemplary commitment to workplace safety and health.

U-Pull-&-Pay operates nine self-serve used auto parts stores across the United States, each with more than 1,000 used cars and trucks. U-Pull-&-Pay is wholly owned by the David J. Joseph Co. (DJJ), a Cincinnati-based division of steelmaker Nucor Corp., Charlotte, North Carolina.
